PRE_IMAGINARIOS2020

a visual prospective from architecture to imagine the city before it happens

Zaragoza.

11st oct - 25th nov 2020

"With more than 2250 visitors at its headquarters, 135 participants and more than 400 images received and exhibited, PRE_I2020 was a first meeting led by young architects and architecture students from Zaragoza, to propose a turning point in the reflection on the practical narratives of architecture as a result of this hectic year 2020. ... "... The exhibition managed to collect and relate a large collection of graphic documents of architecture projects by students from all over Spain and professional studios both Spanish and international, as a great collective IMAGINARY to begin to understand the possibilities for the future of our cities.

Through this exhibition, our purpose from the beginning was always to bring the public, and in this case the citizens of Zaragoza, closer to the typical communication tools of architectural language and in this sense the attractiveness of the graphic documents that we produce every day, in our projects, as a basis for a dialogue and an exchange of positions for the future: "A visual prospective from architecture to imagine the city before it happens." And likewise we, as architects, understand the potentialities of our mediating role in the new fronts that the present day is proposing to also know how to position ourselves in this amalgam of cross realities as interpreters and designers, absorbing what the context and our relationships can teach us and process this information through design and architecture to propose solutions. The digital installation developed for PRE_IMAGINARIOS2020 made it possible to focus the physical staging of the exhibition on the visitors themselves, as builders of the great collective pre_imaginary.

From the usability and interactivity instructions of the web app placed at the entrance to the room, we proposed that visitors could share their own personal imagery from the selection of the images most related to it. By scanning the QR code associated with each one of them with their smartphones, the images updated the great projected pre_imaginary, making those selected increase in size with each new vote and keeping the collective mosaic alive and changing until the end of the exhibition.
